New Delhi — Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump share a strong friendship with a common goal to defeat Islamic terror, the United States’ Director of National Intelligence told NDTV on Monday in an exclusive interview.
Highlighting the close ties between the two nations, she remarked, “The ties between the US and India go very far back, and (in Trump’s second term) we are continuing to see the strengthening of that partnership.”
On Russia’s war on Ukraine, she asserted that President Trump views the conflict with “very clear eyes” and is prioritizing peace. Trump is expected to have a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday, following recent talks between American and Russian officials.
“The President’s priority is to end this war. Negotiations have just begun,” she stated. Additionally, she criticized former US President Joe Biden for his handling of the war, claiming there had been no attempt at peace or direct dialogue with Putin under his administration.
