Previously, Ladakh’s vast and difficult terrain made it challenging for district administrations to reach all areas. The creation of these new districts is expected to ensure better implementation of central government welfare schemes and drive the region’s overall development.
The MHA has also instructed the Ladakh administration to form a committee that will assess key aspects of the new districts, such as boundaries, headquarters, and administrative posts. The final proposal will be submitted after three months for further action.
This initiative reflects the Modi government’s commitment to unlocking new opportunities and possibilities for the people of Ladakh.
