Manmeet K Nanda Appointed as MD and CEO of Invest India

New Delhi, 27th March. Manmeet K Nanda (IAS:2000: WB) has been appointed as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Invest India, which is part of the Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). Nanda currently serves as the DPIIT’s Joint Secretary, going to succeed Deepak Bagla, who resigned last week for personal reasons.

The board of directors approved the appointment of Nanda as the new MD and CEO at its meeting on Monday, according to a statement issued by the Commerce Ministry on Tuesday.

Anurag Jain (IAS: 1989: MP), DPIIT secretary, chairs the Invest India Board.

Other members of the board include P K Tripathi (IAS: 1987: AGMUT), secretary (Coordination) in Cabinet Secretariat, Arti Bhatnagar (IDAS: 1990), Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor in DPIIT, Md. Noor Rahman Sheikh (IFS: 2004), Joint Secretary in the external affairs ministry and industry captains such as Mahindra Group chairperson Anand Mahindra, Cadilla Healthcare chairperson Pankaj R Patel and Ambuja Neotia Group chairperson Harshvardhan Neotia, and industry associations including Confederation of Indian Industry and NASSCOM.

Under Section 25 of the Companies Act, Invest India was established in 2009.
