Manipur Governor Uikey Visits Relief Camps in Kangpokpi & Imphal East, Assures All Possible Help

Imphal, 11th July. Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uike visited the relief camps in Kangpokpi and Imphal East on Monday (10th July 2023) and interacted with the oustees taking shelter in the relief camps.

She listened to the grievances and difficulties of the people and assured them of all possible help at the earliest.

She visited two relief camps opened at TL Shalom Academy, Motabung and Motabung Government High School in Kangpokpi district and interacted with displaced persons there.

The Governor took information about the facilities being provided to the people there and directed the district administration to make necessary improvements. Interacting with the people in the camps, the Governor said that being the guardian of the people of the State, she felt pained to see the people suffering in the relief camps of several districts.

We and the Government of India are trying to resolve this issue in every possible way, the governor said.

Security forces are being deployed in sensitive areas and precast houses are being constructed at different places to accommodate the displaced as a temporary arrangement and adequate compensation will be given to the affected people.

The Governor further said that she has requested the Prime Minister to call the community leaders for talks so that a permanent solution can be found which is necessary to bring back normalcy and peace in the State.

Condemning all forms of violence, the Governor appealed to all to cooperate in bringing peace in Manipur.

Governor Uikey distributed blankets on her behalf to the families living in the camps.

The governor asked the district administration to provide clothes, baby food and items of daily use to the women and children. She also directed the district administration to extend all possible help to the school going children from the camps.

She distributed blankets to each of the families on his behalf in the camp.

Interacting with the people, she said, “It will take time to solve the present problem and we all are trying our best.”

The Governor appealed to all to come forward for dialogue to bring back normalcy and peace in the State through peaceful and cordial dialogue.
