Imphal, 8th July. Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uike on Saturday met five Communist MPs John Brittas, Vikasranjan Bhattacharya, Santosh Kumar, Subba Ryan and Binoy Vishwan at Imphal Raj Bhavan and discussed the ethnic conflict between two communities in Manipur and the subsequent problems and situation.
They expressed apprehension that if the situation is not brought under control soon, communal flare-ups cannot be ruled out in such a situation, which will adversely affect the nation and the entire North-Eastern states in particular.
The members said that they would cooperate in whatever way possible from their side.
The governor told them that they and their supporters should ask all sections of the society, especially women, to discharge their responsibilities for restoring peace in the state and also asked them to extend their full cooperation to the women and the civil defense personnel of the state as they work for your safety.
