Bhopal, 6th Sept. Ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced on Tuesday morning that Maa Sharda’s city Maihar will be made a district, and a few hours later, a gazette notification was issued, separating Maihar district from Satna district.
Complete information was provided in the notification to create a separate Maihar district by splitting it from Satna district, and claims and objections were sought within a month.
With the addition of Maihar as a district, Madhya Pradesh now has a total of 55 districts.
Let us tell you that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has been continuously introducing new districts in recent months.
Most recently, he declared the separation of Pandhurna from Chhindwara district and the creation of Mauganj district from Rewa district.
The number of districts in Madhya Pradesh will rise from 52 to 55 following the secession of Satna district and the making of Maihar district. The notification of these three districts declared in the election year has been issued.
On the other hand, the CM has announced plans to make Pichor and Nagda districts but they are still waiting for the notification, as soon as the notification is issued, the number of districts in Madhya Pradesh will increase to 57.
