New Delhi, 17th Nov: A grand Mahashakti Aradhana was held on Sunday evening at the newly developed Vasudev Ghat on the Yamuna riverfront, organised by the Vishva Mangalya Sabha in association with the Delhi Government’s Department of Art, Culture and Languages. The event aimed to pay tribute to India’s brave sons who sacrificed their lives defending the nation, its cultural values and its civilisational identity.

Over 2,000 women gathered at the ghat, holding earthen lamps as they chanted the Mahishasur Mardini Stotram in a unified voice. The ceremony began with Ganesh Vandana and concluded with a serene Yamuna Aarti. As the participants raised their lamps and recited “E Giri Nandini, Nandita Medini,” the riverfront transformed into a visually captivating spectacle.

The event witnessed the presence of prominent dignitaries including Vishva Mangalya Sabha’s National Organising Secretary Dr. Vrushali Joshi, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Union Minister of State for Transport and Commerce Harsh Malhotra, Delhi Culture Minister Kapil Mishra, and senior RSS pracharak and Sabha mentor Prashant Hadtalkar. Bharat Mata Rashtra Mandir founder Ajay Bhai, social worker and Punjab Kesari Chief Kiran Chopra, and the Sabha’s Joint Organising Secretary Pooja Deshmukh were also in attendance.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Vrushali Joshi outlined the Sabha’s mission of “matru nirman”—redefining the foundational role of women in family, society and national development. She explained the origin of the word ‘matru’ from the Ramayana, emphasising its inherent strength. Joshi said the organisation has been working across 11 departments and reaching nearly seven lakh women, calling the initiative a divine duty aimed at strengthening dharma and nationhood.

The Vishva Mangalya Sabha, founded in 2010 by Shrinath Peethadhishwar Swami Jitendranath, is a women-led autonomous institution working nationwide through student groups, children’s forums and value-based family-building programmes. It also works extensively among orphans—referred to as ‘Svanath’—ensuring each child receives motherly care.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta hailed women as an unshakeable force, stating that determination enables a woman to overcome any adversity. She cited the women officers who led Operation Sindoor, asserting that every Indian woman is capable of protecting both home and nation.

Culture Minister Kapil Mishra congratulated the organisers and said the massive turnout of women at the Yamuna ghat was a powerful message against extremist forces. He described the participants as “Sanatani lionesses” committed to raising courageous citizens like Shivaji.

Social worker Kiran Chopra highlighted the importance of women’s well-being in ensuring harmony within families and communities. She praised the Sabha for nurturing values among young girls and contributing to nation-building.

The event concluded with the Yamuna Aarti in the presence of dignitaries and members of the Vishva Mangalya Sabha.
