Mumbai, 2nd July. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has expressed satisfaction with the railways and civic authorities’ pre-monsoon preparations.
CM Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis held a meeting yesterday with civic officials, concerned departments, and personnel from the NDRF, Army, Navy, Air Force, and Police to review the monsoon situation across the state.
While railway and meteorological officials were present, Divisional Commissioners and District Collectors participated in this meeting via video conferencing.
CM Shinde told the media after the meeting that instructions had been issued to establish war rooms manned by civic officials to handle rain-related complaints.
To avoid loss of life or property, the Chief Minister has directed various agencies to maintain coordination amongst themselves by ensuring proper communication.
CM Shinde directed authorities to remain vigilant for landslide incidents and to make immediate plans to relocate people into temporary shelters in the event of heavy rains.
