Nagpur, 20th Nov.
As Maharashtra heads to the polls on Wednesday, young voters and first-time electors in Nagpur have expressed mixed opinions about the state’s progress. While many appreciated the city’s infrastructure development, concerns over job opportunities, inflation, and women’s security emerged as key issues.

Polling booths in Nagpur, situated in the Vidarbha region, saw a significant turnout of youth, eager to cast their votes. First-time voter Manswi Admane, an engineering student, took the opportunity to raise awareness about women’s safety, carrying a placard with a powerful message outside a polling booth.

Another first-time voter, Ishita Tiwari, a working professional, shared her frustration when her name was missing from the electoral rolls during the Lok Sabha elections earlier this year. However, her excitement was palpable when she received her voting card ahead of the assembly polls. Tiwari, after voting, expressed her joy at participating in the democratic process for the first time.

Manzari Pinjarkar, an MBA student, acknowledged the government’s welfare schemes but voiced concerns over rising inflation and job layoffs. She emphasized that these issues should be addressed urgently. Pinjarkar also highlighted the importance of voting, stressing that it is a civic duty.

Vedant, a management student and one of the early voters, shared his thoughts on the significance of his vote. Despite his busy exam schedule, Vedant made sure to take time off to vote, keeping in mind the development work in Nagpur and the credibility of candidates in his constituency.
