New Delhi, 15th Feb. With lakhs of devotees arriving daily for the ongoing Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, Indian Railways has announced a special Vande Bharat train to facilitate travel. The train will operate between New Delhi and Varanasi via Prayagraj, catering to the increasing number of pilgrims visiting the religious event.
Weekend Special Vande Bharat Train
The Mahakumbh is now in its final phase, scheduled to conclude on February 26. Considering the surge in pilgrims in the coming days, Indian Railways has introduced the Mahakumbh Special Vande Bharat train for three days—February 15, 16, and 17. The train will run from New Delhi to Varanasi via Prayagraj and return on the same route.
Train Timings and Route
According to railway officials, the special train (Train No. 02252) is aimed at providing enhanced travel convenience for devotees attending the Mahakumbh Snan.
- Departure from New Delhi: 5:30 AM
- Arrival in Prayagraj: Midway stop
- Arrival in Varanasi: 2:20 PM
- Return Journey from Varanasi: 3:15 PM
- Arrival in New Delhi: 11:50 PM
Indian Railways has already been running Mahakumbh Special trains to accommodate the heavy rush of devotees from various parts of the country. The introduction of Vande Bharat will offer a faster and more comfortable travel experience for pilgrims visiting Prayagraj and Varanasi during the grand event.
