Lucknow Police Nab Three Suspects in Daring Bank Locker Heist After Shootout

Lucknow, 23rd Dec. In a dramatic turn of events, Lucknow police have arrested three individuals involved in the daring theft of valuables from the Indian Overseas Bank’s Chinhat branch. The arrests followed a shootout as the suspects attempted to flee the scene in an Estilo car via the Outer Ring Road.

The arrested suspects—Arvind Kumar, Balram Kumar, and Kailash Bind—were intercepted by police during their escape attempt. Arvind Kumar, a resident of Bihar’s Munger, was injured in the exchange of fire, while his two accomplices were taken into custody. Authorities seized Rs 3 lakh in cash, valuable jewellery, and an illegal country-made pistol from the suspects.

The theft, which came to light on December 22, involved the burglars breaking through two walls from an adjacent vacant plot to access the bank’s premises. Once inside, the criminals looted valuables from 42 lockers, including jewellery and other precious items.

While the police have made significant progress in apprehending the suspects, four accomplices remain on the run. The absconding individuals have been identified as:

  • Mithun Kumar (28), resident of Lakhisarai, Bihar
  • Sobind Kumar, resident of Asarganj, Bihar
  • Sunny Dayal (28), resident of Munger, Bihar
  • Bipin Kumar Verma

Efforts are ongoing to locate and arrest the remaining suspects involved in the high-stakes robbery. Police are hopeful that the arrest of the three suspects will lead to further breakthroughs in the investigation.
