Mysuru, 4th Oct. Lokayukta officials on Friday conducted a spot inspection of 14 Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) sites, which have been allegedly illegally allotted to Parvathi B M, the wife of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Accompanied by officials from the MUDA and the district administration, the team measured the plots in question, according to official sources.
Social activist Snehamayi Krishna, one of the complainants in the case, was also present, having been summoned by the Lokayukta for the procedure. “I was summoned today by the Lokayukta for the spot inspection of 14 sites,” Krishna informed reporters.
This inspection follows an FIR registered by Lokayukta police on September 27 against Siddaramaiah, his wife, brother-in-law Mallikarjuna Swamy, and Devaraju— from whom Mallikarjuna Swamy purchased land and gifted it to Parvathi. The FIR was lodged after a Special Court order on September 25, which came just a day after the High Court upheld the Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot’s sanction to investigate Siddaramaiah.
Additionally, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has registered an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR), akin to an FIR, against the Chief Minister regarding alleged irregularities in the allotment of the 14 sites to his wife by MUDA.
In light of these developments, the MUDA has decided to revoke the ownership and possession of the 14 plots, following Parvathi’s decision to relinquish her claims. MUDA Commissioner A N Raghunandan confirmed that the sale deeds for these plots will be canceled.
