Leaders Pay Tribute to Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar on His Birth Anniversary

New Delhi: A solemn ceremony took place at the Parliament House Complex on Monday as leaders from across the political spectrum gathered to pay floral tributes at the statue of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, marking his birth anniversary. Among those leading the tribute were President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.

Also present were senior Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Mallikarjun Kharge, who joined in honoring the legacy of the man who played a pivotal role in shaping India’s Constitution. The ceremony was attended by Union ministers, MPs, and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, all of whom came together to remember Ambedkar’s contributions to India.

President Murmu, in her message, reflected on Ambedkar’s extraordinary achievements, acknowledging how he overcame immense personal and societal challenges to create a distinct identity. She emphasized that his commitment to education as a means of social empowerment continues to inspire generations. “His work will always encourage future generations to work towards building a better nation,” she said.

Prime Minister Modi, in his tribute on X, highlighted how Dr. Ambedkar’s vision for social justice still resonates in India’s quest for a self-reliant and prosperous future. “It is due to his inspiration that India is dedicated to fulfilling the dream of social justice for all,” Modi said.

Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, born in 1891 into a Dalit family, defied the odds and emerged as a brilliant student, earning respect worldwide. His fight against discrimination and his role in drafting the Indian Constitution have made him a symbol of social reform. As India’s first law minister, his legacy of advocating for the rights of marginalized communities continues to impact the nation’s progress towards equality and justice.
