Lakhimpur Kheri: Farmers Crushed to Death by the Car of the Minister’s Convoy, Angry People Burnt the Vehicles

Lakhimpur, 4th Oct. A big ruckus was created before the program of Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya in Banbirpur. In Tikunia, farmers standing to show black flags clashed with BJP leaders. It is alleged that during this, one of the BJP leaders had mounted a car on the protesting farmers in which many farmers were injured. After the accident, the angry farmers set the vehicles on fire.
Actually Keshav Prasad Maurya was to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of some projects in Lakhimpur-Kheri on Sunday. After this he had to go to Banbirpur, the native village of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Kumar Mishra. On getting information about the program of the Deputy CM, the farmer leaders had gathered to show black flags and before the arrival of Keshav Prasad Maurya, there was a ruckus.
It is alleged that Ashish, son of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni, drove the car on the farmers showing black flags. According to the information, 8 people lost their lives in the accident. Angry farmers attacked Ashish’s car due to the accident. Somehow Ashish escaped through the sugarcane field, while his driver was thrashed to death by the mob.
A mob furious over the death of the farmers set three vehicles on fire on the spot. There are also reports of stone pelting at the police. The CM has ordered an inquiry into the incident.
