New Delhi, 10th July. Congress Adampur MLA Kuldeep Bishnoi, who has been warming up to the BJP after cross-voting in Rajya Sabha elections, met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President J P Nadda on Sunday.
Last month, the Congress removed Bishnoi from all party positions. Bishnoi met the two senior Bharatiya Janata Party leaders in Delhi and heaped praises on them.
Bishnoi, the younger son of late Haryana Chief Minister Bhajan Lal, shared photos of his meeting with the two leaders.
Following his cross-voting in the Rajya Sabha elections last month, there has been speculation about Bishnoi’s next move.
Bishnoi has been fuming since the Congress passed him over for the position of Haryana unit chief during a reorganisation earlier this year.
In a tweet, Bishnoi said it was a “real honor and pleasure to meet Amit Shah”.
“A true statesman, I felt his aura and charisma in my interactions with him. His vision for India is awe-inspiring,” Bishnoi wrote.
Bishnoi added that he felt “very proud” to meet Nadda.
“His easy-going and humble nature sets him apart,” he said.
Bishnoi said the BJP has seen unprecedented heights under Nadda, who has ably led the party. “I wish him good health and a long life.”
Following the cross-voting, Bishnoi stated last month that he was consulting with his supporters to determine his next steps.
When asked if he had contact with BJP leaders, Bishnoi responded that his next move would be in the best interests of the people of Haryana and his constituency.
The Congress, Haryana’s main opposition party, was already assured of one Rajya Sabha seat due to the number of MLAs it has in the 90-member assembly. However, Congress candidate Ajay Maken was unable to secure the seat after Bishnoi cross-voted, and an MLA’s vote was declared invalid.
Krishan Lal Panwar of the BJP and Kartikeya Sharma of the saffron party were elected to the two Rajya Sabha seats in Haryana.
