KLE Society School Conducts ‘Eco Ten Minutes’ Environmental Cleanup Activity

Bengaluru- On March 5, 2025, KLE Society School in Bengaluru, India, hosted the ‘Eco Ten Minutes’ event in collaboration with the international peace NGO, Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL). The initiative aimed to encourage students to actively participate in environmental protection efforts and promote a sustainable ecological culture. A total of 281 participants, including 10 teachers and 271 students, took part in the event.

The event began with a commemorative speech by the school principal, followed by a presentation from Mrs. Mini R., a teacher who completed HWPL’s Peace Education Training (PET) program. Using HWPL’s peace education materials, she emphasized the importance of environmental conservation. After the presentation, students joined teachers in cleaning the school premises and surrounding areas, participating in hands-on environmental preservation activities.

Participants shared positive feedback in a post-event survey. One teacher remarked, “This activity provided students with an opportunity to learn how to create an eco-friendly environment while raising awareness about environmental protection within the community. It serves as a foundation for students to grow into responsible citizens.”

Students also shared their experiences, expressing how they learned valuable lessons about environmental responsibility. One student stated, “I was able to see firsthand what a clean street looks like and gained a deeper understanding of the efforts of sanitation workers. This experience made me realize the importance of being a responsible citizen.”

This event was part of HWPL’s LP Program in Bengaluru, aimed at promoting peace education and fostering environmental stewardship. By cultivating a culture of cleanliness and maintaining orderly public spaces, the initiative plays a vital role in building a more sustainable society.

The “Legislate Peace” (LP) program is a global initiative supporting the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) and advocating its implementation at the international level. It also strives to apply the core values of the DPCW in reality.

The LP program began as the Sign Your Support campaign, launched to promote the DPCW as a solution for achieving global peace and urging diverse societal sectors to back the declaration. The campaign has since expanded into various forms of peace events and activities tailored to regions worldwide, including seminars, forums, peace walks, and education. Currently, mid- to long-term goals are being pursued globally to establish peace legally, institutionally, and culturally.

HWPL remains committed to advancing its efforts in promoting peace and environmental protection through various initiatives.
