Key Parliamentary Panels Constituted; K.C. Venugopal to Head PAC

New Delhi, 17th August. The Lok Sabha Secretariat announced the formation of key parliamentary committees, effective immediately. The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) will be chaired by Congress leader K.C. Venugopal, overseeing the government’s financial accountability.

BJP’s Sanjay Jaiswal will lead the Committee on Estimates, while Baijayant Panda will chair the Committee on Public Undertakings.

These committees play a crucial role in monitoring government accounts and the functioning of public enterprises. They include members from both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha and are elected annually.

Additionally, the Committee on Welfare of Other Backward Classes will be headed by Ganesh Singh of the BJP, and the Committee on Welfare of SCs and STs will be chaired by Faggan Singh Kulaste, also from BJP.

These committees ensure oversight of various Union ministries and departments, with a tenure of one year.
