Thiruvananthapuram, 10th August.
In response to the recent devastating landslides in Mundakkai and Chooralmala hamlets of Wayanad district, the Kerala government has unveiled a financial aid package for those who have lost their homes.

The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) announced that the government will offer financial support to help relocate the affected families. Each affected household will receive emergency financial assistance of Rs 10,000. Additionally, a daily allowance of Rs 300 will be provided to two adults per family who have lost their income due to the disaster. In cases where a family member is seriously ill or hospitalized, the allowance will extend to three members, for up to 30 days.

The government is also exploring options to provide housing in government or public-owned properties. The district collector has been tasked with submitting a report on the available properties, after which rental assistance will be determined.

The landslides on July 30 have claimed 226 lives and left over 130 people missing.
