Chandigarh, 19th Sept. AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal is set to intensify the party’s election campaign in Haryana with a major roadshow in Jagadhri on September 20, 2024. Sandeep Pathak, AAP’s national general secretary (organisation), confirmed Kejriwal’s plans at a press conference on Thursday.
Kejriwal, recently released from Tihar jail after a legal battle, will embark on a rigorous campaign schedule covering 13 events across 11 districts, including Dabwali, Rania, Bhiwani, Meham, Kalayat, Assandh, and Ballabhgarh. His engagement will continue in the run-up to the October 5 Haryana Assembly elections.
Pathak highlighted Kejriwal’s readiness to lead the campaign, following his resignation as Delhi Chief Minister. He criticized the BJP’s internal issues and the recent leadership change in Haryana, questioning the timing of replacing Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar with Nayab Singh Saini.
Accusing the BJP of misgovernance, Pathak underscored rising unemployment and inflation in Haryana, suggesting that the state’s voters are disillusioned with traditional parties. He presented AAP as a fresh and honest alternative, drawing parallels with the party’s achievements in Punjab and Delhi.
The AAP will contest all 90 seats in Haryana, following a breakdown in seat-sharing talks with the Congress. Pathak expressed confidence that the BJP would be decisively defeated in this election. The results will be announced on October 8.
