April 29— In a sweeping security response to the April 22 terrorist attack that killed 26 civilians in Baisaran Valley near Pahalgam, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has temporarily closed 48 of the 87 designated tourist destinations across the Kashmir Valley.

The move, aimed at ensuring visitor safety and supporting ongoing security operations, follows heightened search missions and area-wise vulnerability assessments by intelligence agencies and security forces. According to officials, the affected tourist sites have either been declared active operation zones or flagged as high-risk areas.
