J&K Assembly Elections Phase 1 Sees 61.38% Voter Turnout

Jammu, 21st Sept. The first phase of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections has recorded a voter turnout of 61.38% across 24 assembly constituencies (ACs), according to the Election Commission of India (ECI).
The turnout figures reveal a gender divide, with 63.75% of male voters, 58.96% of female voters, and 40% of third-gender voters participating in the electoral process. The polling was facilitated by the Commission’s Voter Turnout App, which provided updates every two hours starting at 9:30 AM.
All polling parties returned safely, as confirmed by the Chief Electoral Officer of Jammu and Kashmir. The turnout data will be finalized post-counting, which will include postal ballots for service voters, absentee voters, and those on election duty.

- DEVSAR: 57.76%
- DOORU: 61.62%
- KOKERNAG (ST): 62.25%
- ANANTNAG: 45.62%
- SRIGUFWARA – BIJBEHARA: 60.43%
- PAHALGAM: 71.26%
- INDERWAL: 82.16%
- KISHTWAR: 78.24%
- BANIHAL: 71.28%
The voting for the first phase took place on September 18, with the second phase set for September 25, and the final phase on October 1. Election results will be announced on October 8.
