“Jharkhand’s Mati, Beti, Roti in Danger”: Chouhan Vows to Implement NRC if BJP Comes to Power

Ranchi, 7th Oct. Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday criticized the JMM-led government in Jharkhand for allegedly “patronizing” Bangladeshi infiltrators. He vowed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would implement the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in the state if voted to power.

Speaking at Ranchi’s Birsa Munda Airport before departing for Delhi, Chouhan expressed concerns about the safety of ‘mati’ (land), ‘beti’ (daughter), and ‘roti’ (bread) in Jharkhand, stating, “The BJP is not concerned about coming to power only. These elements are in danger due to infiltration. It is our pledge to protect them.”

Chouhan, who is the election in-charge for Jharkhand, alleged that the Hemant Soren-led government was facilitating infiltration by issuing Aadhaar and voter identity cards to foreigners. He claimed that infiltrators were settling in Jharkhand, marrying local women, purchasing land, and gaining influence in local bodies, which he described as “very dangerous” and detrimental to the state.

To address these issues, Chouhan assured that a citizen register would be created, and the NRC would be enforced to expel infiltrators from Jharkhand.

He also mentioned that the BJP would soon unveil the second part of its manifesto, building on the five key points released over the weekend. These points include promises of ₹2,100 monthly financial assistance to women, five lakh jobs for youth, LPG cylinders priced at ₹500 for every household, and housing for all if the party assumes power.

Additionally, Chouhan discussed his ongoing engagement with farmers, stating he meets with farmer organizations weekly to address their welfare needs. He attended the BJP’s election committee meeting in Ranchi on Sunday, where strategies for the upcoming assembly polls were devised.
