Ranchi, 11th Oct. The Jharkhand cabinet approved a proposal on Monday to increase the dearness allowance (DA) for state government employees and the dearness relief (DR) for pensioners by 4%, effective July 1 of this year.
According to an official, it will benefit nearly 2 lakh government employees and 1.35 lakh pensioners.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren presided over the state cabinet meeting.
“The council of ministers approved the proposal to increase the dearness allowance payable to state government employees from 34% to 38% with effect from July 1, 2022,” cabinet secretary Vandana Dadel said.
The cabinet also decided to increase the pensioners’ dearness relief from 34% to 38%, she said.
The council of ministers has approved 19 proposals, including one for holding urban local body (ULB) elections without OBC reservation in 2023.
Dadel stated that the elections will be held next year, with the OBC seats being unreserved berths.
In addition, the cabinet approved a proposal to spend Rs 9.03 crore on 21 sports utility vehicles for Jharkhand High Court judges.
