The third phase of “Apki Yojana, Apki Sarkar, Apke Dwar” (your scheme, your government at your doorstep) started on November 24 and ended on December 29.
“A total of 5,752,882 applications have been received from November 24 to December 26. The final figures may increase by a few thousand,” said the official.
According to a government document released on Friday to mark the completion of four years of the JMM-led government, 1,963,537 applications have been processed, while 17,433 have been rejected due to various issues. Approximately 3.77 million applications are still pending.
Interestingly, more than 3 million applications have been received for the Abua Awas Yojana, a state government housing scheme, during the outreach program.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren launched the ambitious housing scheme on November 15 to provide houses to those who were not eligible for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
Under the Abua Awas scheme, the government plans to build over 800,000 houses at a cost of Rs 16,320 crore by March 31, 2026. Around 200,000 people will be provided houses in the current fiscal year, 350,000 houses will be completed in the next financial year, and 250,000 in 2025-26.
Soren stated, “Initially, we planned for around 800,000 houses under the scheme, but now it seems that the number may be much higher. However, the government is committed to providing houses to everyone, even if it takes two or three years.”
In the second phase, which was conducted in two parts from October 12 to October 22 and November 1 to November 14, 2022, a total of 5,544,554 applications were received. Approximately 94.76% of the applications were processed in the first phase, and 97.77% in the second phase.
Soren stated that the outreach program will be conducted every year in Jharkhand.
