Tirupati, 4th April. Former MP from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and film actress Jaya Prada expressed her interest in joining the upcoming elections in Andhra Pradesh. She mentioned that the final decision lies with the BJP leadership.
During her visit to the Tirumala temple on her birthday, Jaya Prada stated, “I have a desire to participate in elections from Andhra Pradesh, but it ultimately depends on the party’s higher authorities.”
However, it seems unlikely that she will be chosen as a candidate from Andhra Pradesh for the upcoming Assembly or Lok Sabha elections, as the BJP has already announced its candidates for these positions.
The BJP is entering these elections in alliance with TDP and Janasena. As per the agreement, the BJP will contest six Lok Sabha and 10 Assembly seats, while TDP and Janasena will contest the rest.
The elections for 175 Assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh are scheduled for May 13, with results expected on June 4.
Jaya Prada also expressed her interest in being a star campaigner for NDA candidates in the state.
TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu announced the alliance between TDP, Janasena, and BJP to counter the YSRCP government’s actions. He expressed confidence in their victory in the upcoming elections.
Naidu claimed that people are determined to defeat the YSRCP in the elections, citing increased violence, corruption, and other issues under their rule.
He emphasized the unity of TDP, Janasena, and BJP in stopping the alleged atrocities of the YSRCP government.
