New Delhi, 1st Sept. Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Rajwinder Singh Bhatti officially took over as the Director General (DG) of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Saturday, according to an official release.
Upon his arrival at the CISF Headquarters, Bhatti was greeted by senior officers including Praveer Ranjan, Additional DG (APS), Kundan Krishnan, Additional DG (North), PS Ranpise, Additional DG (HQ), and other top officials. A ceremonial Guard of Honour was presented in his honor.
In his inaugural address, DG Bhatti expressed his commitment to enhancing the professionalism and welfare measures within the CISF. He outlined his vision to fortify the Force’s capabilities in protecting critical infrastructure such as airports, nuclear installations, and other essential assets, while also focusing on the well-being of its personnel.
Bhatti, the 31st DG of CISF, brings extensive experience to his new role. Prior to his appointment, he served as the Director General of Bihar Police, where he was recognized for his strategic leadership in handling complex law and order issues.
An IPS officer of the 1990 batch from the Bihar Cadre, Bhatti holds a Chartered Accountant qualification and an M.Phil degree. His 34-year career includes significant positions such as City Superintendent of Police in Patna, SP in various districts, and Inspector-General of Patna Zone and Security. His Central Deputation roles include Joint Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Chief Vigilance Officer at the Air Authority of India (AAI).
Bhatti was honored with the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 2006 and the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service in 2014. His extensive background in security management and public administration positions him well for his new role at the CISF.
