India’s Youth Will Drive the Nation to Become Developed by 2047: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2025, marking National Youth Day in honor of Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary. The event, held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, brought together 3,000 young leaders to discuss India’s roadmap for becoming a developed nation by 2047.

During the event, the PM released a compilation of essays written by participants on ten themes shaping India’s development trajectory. Emphasizing the transformative power of India’s youth, he called them the “driving force” behind the nation’s progress and expressed unwavering trust in their potential to lead India into an era of economic, social, and cultural empowerment.

Key Highlights of PM’s Address

  1. Youth Empowerment: PM Modi lauded the vibrancy and innovation of India’s youth, describing them as critical to achieving the dream of a developed India.
  2. Historical Parallels: Drawing on examples like the U.S.’s New Deal and Singapore’s transformation, he underscored how collective effort and clear goals can drive remarkable progress.
  3. India’s Rapid Achievements:
    • Open defecation eradicated within 60 months.
    • World’s largest COVID-19 vaccination drive completed ahead of time.
    • Early fulfillment of Paris Agreement commitments and other sustainability targets.
  4. Education and Infrastructure Growth: The PM highlighted the expansion of IITs, IIMs, AIIMS, and medical colleges, which have tripled in number over the last decade, alongside a sixfold increase in infrastructure spending.
  5. Future Vision: He reiterated India’s ambition to host the Olympics, establish a space station by 2035, and land an Indian astronaut on the moon.

The PM stressed that achieving ambitious goals requires participation from every citizen, urging the youth to take ownership of the nation’s development. He also assured the integration of youth-led ideas into policymaking.

Union Ministers Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Dharmendra Pradhan, and other dignitaries attended the event. PM Modi concluded by inspiring the youth to stay committed to the vision of Viksit Bharat, saying, “The future of India lies in your hands, and together, we will make the impossible possible.”
