New Delhi, 20th Jan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday underscored the significant strides made by the government in the toy manufacturing sector, emphasizing its role in advancing Aatmanirbharta (self-reliance) while celebrating Indian traditions and fostering enterprise.
In response to a post by the Mann Ki Baat Updates handle on X, the Prime Minister highlighted how the initiative to boost toy manufacturing, inspired by one of his Mann Ki Baat episodes, has gained momentum through collective efforts across the nation.
PM Modi stated, “It was during one of the #MannKiBaat episodes that we had talked about boosting toy manufacturing and powered by collective efforts across India, we’ve covered a lot of ground in that.
Our strides in the sector have boosted our quest for Aatmanirbharta and popularised traditions and enterprise.”*
This initiative reflects the government’s focus on reviving traditional Indian toy-making, promoting local artisans, and leveraging the sector’s potential for economic growth. The efforts aim to not only cater to domestic demand but also position India as a global hub for toy production, in alignment with the Make in India mission.
The initiative aligns with the broader vision of fostering innovation, preserving heritage, and enhancing the global appeal of India’s cultural identity through its vibrant toy industry.
