India’s Defence Strengthened with Indianness, Eyes ₹50,000 Crore Def Exports by 2028-29: Rajnath Singh

 At a Defence Summit in New Delhi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh underscored India’s robust defence strategy, infused with the essence of Indianness, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Singh emphasized the government’s commitment to bolstering self-reliance in defence manufacturing, setting ambitious targets for defence exports and technological innovation.

Singh highlighted the transformative reforms initiated by the Ministry of Defence, including the promotion of ‘Aatmanirbharta’ (self-reliance), establishment of Defence Industrial Corridors, and incentivizing domestic defence production. He lauded the significant surge in defence production and exports, setting a target of ₹50,000 crore in exports by 2028-29.

The Defence Minister reiterated India’s unwavering commitment to a strong defence apparatus, equipped to counter any threat. He commended the Armed Forces’ readiness and capabilities, emphasizing their ability to defend the nation against adversaries.

Singh emphasized the government’s proactive approach in fostering innovation and supporting the youth in the defence sector. He emphasized the importance of shedding the follower mentality and transitioning to a technology creator, aligning with Prime Minister Modi’s vision of an Atma Nirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India).

Furthermore, Singh highlighted the government’s efforts to revive national heritage and instill pride in Indian culture among the youth. He underscored the significance of embracing Indianness and shedding the colonial mindset, fostering a spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship within the country.

Singh also emphasized the government’s commitment to the welfare of serving and retired personnel of the Armed Forces, including the implementation of the One Rank One Pension scheme and the establishment of the National War Memorial.
