New Delhi, 10th August. The Government of India has formed a new committee to monitor the situation along the Indo-Bangladesh Border (IBB) amidst growing concerns for the safety of Indian citizens and minority communities in Bangladesh.
The committee, led by the Additional Director General (ADG) of the Border Security Force (BSF) Eastern Command, will also include the Inspector General (IG) of BSF Frontier HQ South Bengal, the IG of BSF Frontier HQ Tripura, the Member (Planning & Development) of the Land Ports Authority of India (LPAI), and the Secretary of LPAI.
This committee will focus on maintaining communication with Bangladeshi authorities to ensure the protection of Indian nationals and minorities in Bangladesh.
