New Delhi, 2nd Nov. India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) summoned the Canadian High Commission’s representative in New Delhi on Friday, November 1, following allegations reported by The Washington Post that implicated Union Home Minister Amit Shah in orchestrating plots against Sikh separatists in Canada.
The MEA labeled the allegations “absurd,” emphasizing India’s strong disapproval.
The report, which surfaced amid heightened diplomatic tensions, quoted Canadian officials accusing Shah of purported involvement in targeting Sikh separatist groups.
India’s swift response reflects the nation’s firm stance on maintaining sovereignty and refuting claims it considers unsubstantiated.
This development follows a series of diplomatic strains between India and Canada over separatist activities within Canadian borders.
