Warsaw, Poland, 22nd August. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced that India and Poland have reached an agreement on a social security pact, marking a significant step in strengthening bilateral ties. The agreement is set to benefit Indian expatriates in Poland and further enhance cooperation between the two nations.
Addressing the Indian community in Warsaw, PM Modi highlighted the growing partnership between India and Poland, particularly in the fields of new technology and clean energy. He also noted that Kabaddi has become a unique cultural connection between the two countries, with Poland hosting the Kabaddi Championship for the first time this year.
PM Modi underscored the importance of innovation and youth in driving the development of both nations. He also expressed optimism about the future of India-Poland relations, stating that his meetings with Polish President Andrzej Duda and Prime Minister Donald Tusk would further strengthen this partnership.
In his speech, PM Modi emphasized India’s global vision, rooted in the ancient philosophy of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (the world is one family). He also outlined India’s ambitious goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047, highlighting the rapid progress the country is making in various sectors, including digital transactions, broadband connectivity, and public transport.
The Prime Minister also praised the Indian diaspora for their contributions and empathy, particularly during global crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic. He thanked the Polish government for their support during the evacuation of Indian students from Ukraine and expressed gratitude for the warm welcome he received in Poland.
PM Modi’s visit to Poland, the first by an Indian Prime Minister in 45 years, coincides with the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The visit is expected to further solidify the already strong ties between India and Poland.
