“India No Longer Just Nation of Dreams, But Nation That Delivers”: PM Modi at TV9 Summit 2025

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the TV9 Summit 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, highlighting India’s economic rise, global leadership, and policy transformations. He emphasized that the world is now keenly watching India’s progress and acknowledged the country’s transition from aspirations to achievements.

PM Modi stated that India, once the 11th largest economy, has risen to the 5th position within just 7-8 years. He cited an IMF report, which highlighted India as the only major economy to have doubled its GDP in the last decade, adding ₹200 lakh crore to its economy. This growth, he said, has lifted 25 crore people out of poverty, creating a Neo-Middle Class that is driving economic vibrancy.

Addressing India’s youth, PM Modi underscored their role in innovation and technological advancements. He noted that with the world’s largest youth population, India is rapidly skilling its workforce to become a hub for global talent. He also spoke about India’s foreign policy shift, stating that “India First” is now the guiding principle, replacing the old approach of maintaining neutral distances with an ‘Equi-Closeness’ strategy that fosters strong diplomatic relations worldwide.

On India’s role in shaping global affairs, PM Modi pointed out the country’s contributions to healthcare, disaster resilience, and trade. He highlighted:

  • Vaccine development and COVID-19 assistance to over 150 nations.
  • The Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) for better global disaster preparedness.
  • The International Solar Alliance (ISA), which now has over 100 member nations, promoting renewable energy solutions.
  • The India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC), aimed at boosting global trade connectivity.

Referring to India’s leadership at the G-20 Summit, the Prime Minister emphasized the historic inclusion of the African Union as a permanent G-20 member, marking a shift toward greater global representation for Global South nations.

PM Modi also spoke about India’s transformation into an efficient governance model, citing major policy changes such as:

  • Banking expansion – ensuring financial inclusion and reducing Non-Performing Assets (NPAs).
  • Passport reforms – increasing passport centers from 77 to 550, cutting wait times from 50 days to just 5-6 days.
  • Direct Benefit Transfers (DBT) – saving ₹3 lakh crore by eliminating 10 crore fake beneficiaries.
  • Administrative streamlining – merging ministries and scrapping 1,500 outdated laws for improved efficiency.

Discussing manufacturing and self-reliance, the Prime Minister highlighted the success of ‘Make in India’, with:

  • Mobile phone exports surging from $1 billion to $20 billion in a decade.
  • Solar energy exports increasing 23 times, while imports declined.
  • Defense exports rising 21 times in the last 10 years.

Concluding his speech, PM Modi reaffirmed India’s commitment to becoming a developed nation by 2047. He praised TV9 Network for engaging over 50,000 youth in discussions about India’s future and expressed confidence in their role in shaping Viksit Bharat.
