INDIA IMPOSES BAN ON FLIGHTS FROM BRITAIN TO CONTROL THE SPREAD OF NEW CORONAVIRUS STRAIN

On Monday India imposed a ban on flights from Britain to control the spread of new strain of coronavirus which is being considered more infectious. The ban will come into effect from tomorrow and it will continue till 31st December.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation informed through a tweet that “Considering the prevailing situation in the UK. Govt. of India has decided that all flights originating from the UK to India shall be temporarily suspended till 11:59 pm, 31st December 2020. This suspension to start w.e.f. 11.59 pm, 22nd December.”

Countries like the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland and some countries as well have already imposed travel restrictions on Britain.

The Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan has urged people not to panic and assured that the government is alert about the new infectious strain of coronavirus that has emerged in Britain.
