Addressing the gathering at Bharat Mandapam, PM Modi stressed the urgency to accelerate the pace of development and called for stronger cooperation between the Union and state governments.
“We have to increase the speed of development. If the Centre and all the States come together and work like Team India, no goal is impossible,” the Prime Minister said, as quoted in a post by NITI Aayog on X.
The meeting was themed ‘Viksit Rajya for Viksit Bharat@2047’, reflecting the Centre’s long-term vision to make India a developed nation by the time it celebrates 100 years of independence.
“Viksit Bharat is the goal of every Indian. When every state is Viksit, then Bharat will be Viksit. This is the aspiration of its 140 crore citizens,” PM Modi said.
This is the first major interaction between the Prime Minister and all Chief Ministers and Lieutenant Governors following the recent Operation Sindoor, a successful anti-terror offensive by Indian forces.
The Governing Council, NITI Aayog’s apex decision-making body, includes Chief Ministers of all states, Lieutenant Governors of Union Territories, and several Union Ministers.
PM Modi, who chairs the council, reiterated his commitment to cooperative federalism and the critical role of states in shaping the country’s development trajectory.
