New Delhi, 7th Feb. Union Minister for Civil Aviation, Ram Mohan Naidu, chaired a high-level meeting on Friday to accelerate aircraft component manufacturing in India. The meeting, attended by senior officials, industry leaders, and government representatives, focused on strengthening domestic production and positioning India as a global aerospace hub.
With increasing international collaborations and rising air travel demand, India’s aircraft component manufacturing sector is witnessing rapid growth. Leading global aerospace firms are sourcing components from Indian manufacturers, highlighting the industry’s quality and reliability.
“Inspired by the Prime Minister’s vision for Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat, we aim to position India at the forefront of global civil aviation. A strong ecosystem, including skill development, manufacturing, certification, and maintenance, is essential to achieving this goal,” Minister Naidu stated.
The government plans to expand indigenous aircraft component manufacturing through MSMEs while ensuring greater international market access for Indian Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). Civil Aviation Secretary V. Vualnam emphasized the need for regular stakeholder meetings to drive industry growth.
The meeting concluded with stakeholders reaffirming their commitment to strengthening India’s aerospace industry through skill development, technology integration, and infrastructure expansion.
