In regard to the invasion of Ukraine, Indian Prime Minister NarendraModi has advised Putin to put an end to the violence and return to diplomacy.

During a tele conversation with Vladimir Putin, Indian PrimeMinister NarendraModi asked Russia to suspend military action against Ukraineand emphasized the importance of resolving the conflict diplomatically.

On Thursday night, Prime Minister NarendraModi and RussianPresident Vladimir Putin addressed recent developments in Ukraine, with theIndian leader expressing his long-held belief that differences between Russiaand the NATO group can only be resolved via honest and true conversation.

Putin briefed Modi on recent developments in Ukraine, making the Indian Prime Minister the first global leader to speak with Putin since the commencement of Russian special force operations in Ukraine. According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the Prime Minister has called for an immediate cease of violence and for all parties to work together tomreturn to the road of diplomatic engagement and conversation.

The chat took place just hours after Ukraine “begged”India has to intervene.

During the brief meeting, Modi expressed to Putin hisconcerns about the safety of Indian citizens in Ukraine, particularlystudents,” and stated that India places the highest importance on theirsafe withdrawal.

“The Prime Minister repeated his long-held belief that thedisagreements between Russia and the NATO alliance can only be resolved by openand honest communication.”

The presidents agreed that their officials and diplomatic teams will continue to communicate on current concerns on a regular basis.

Earlier on Thursday, Russia started a broad military assault onUkraine, launching missiles and tanks at numerous cities.

According to AFP, which quoted multiple Ukrainian state sources,at least 68 people were killed, including military and civilians.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, 74 above-groundMilitary infrastructure sites in Ukraine, including 11 aerodromes, weredestroyed.

Ukraine reported that Russia has carried out 203 assaults sincethe start of the day.

Amid this chaos, 4,000 Indians have lately fled Ukraine,  according to the government’s assessment of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

While commenting on the Russia-Ukraine war, India’s ForeignSecretary, Harsh V Shringla, told the media on Thursday that 4,000 Indians haveevacuated Ukraine in the recent few days.

“We began registering Indian nationals around a month ago…

We discovered that there were 20,000 Indian nationals present”He continued.

He stated that the control desk at the Ministry of ExternalAffairs received 980 calls and 850 emails.

During a Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meeting in the middleof the Ukraine crisis; Indian Prime Minister NarendraModi stressed that the government’s main priority is the safety and security of Indian nationals inUkraine.

Foreign Secretary Harsh VardhanShringla announced this during apress briefing on the crisis.
