New Delhi, 4th Sept. Union Minister for Education Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated a workshop on the Institutional Development Plan (IDP) for higher education institutes on Wednesday.
The event also saw the release of the UGC Compendium of Regulations (1957-2023), providing a comprehensive reference for all UGC rules.
Pradhan emphasized that the IDP should prioritize learner-centric and multidisciplinary education. He stressed the importance of addressing 21st-century aspirations and creating solutions for both local and global challenges.
The Minister highlighted that higher education institutions (HEIs) must align with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 to achieve excellence in academic research, innovation, and inclusivity.
The workshop brought together over 170 representatives from HEIs across India, focusing on strategies for institutional growth, financial planning, governance, and curriculum development.
The UGC Compendium, available as a PDF and e-book on the UGC website, serves as a vital tool for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and supporting best practices in higher education.
Sanjay Murthy, Secretary of the Department of Higher Education, and other key figures also participated, discussing the future of work and the need for institutions to rise to global standards.
