ICO to Celebrate India’s 76th Independence Day with ‘India Day Parade & Celebration’ in Chicago

Chicago, 9th Aug. Indian Community Outreach (ICO) in Naperville, IL will commemorate the occasion of 76th Independence Day of India with its feature rich event, the ‘India Day Parade & Celebration’ on August 13th.
ICO will also celebrate its tenth year since its inauguration on August 15th, 2013, by former Mayor Pradel.
In just nine years, this event has become the largest Indian American Celebration in the country featuring numerous attractions. In 2022, it was attended by over forty thousand people from all over the USA to showcase their love for India, culture, and community.
Talking about the event, Mr Krishna Bansal, Chairman, Indian Community Outreach, Chicago, USA said, “A Feature-Rich Event – Year after year, India Day Celebrations brings a magnificent platform for the Indian Americans to showcase their talents in the domains of art, dance, music, and culture. With the celebrations spanning the entire day, it encompasses the true nature of a festival – food, cultural show, parade, and music. This year, the parade will include over 60 entries including multiple intricately & beautifully decorated floats, various community organizations, businesses and public figures, capturing the imagination of one and all. There will be over 30 booths presenting their products, a health fair providing pre-screening for common ailments, an international food court with scrumptious menu from various local and out of state vendors, and ethnic Indian bazaar with fashion, clothing, and jewelry attracted the attention of the attendees.”
Unlike in previous years, the parade will begin at 11 am from Naperville North High School this year offering our participants and views a much more comfortable climate.
This year’s parade will be a colorful, vibrant parade coming down Mill Street (in between Ogden Ave. & Jefferson Ave.) and will feature an international Bollywood star, Daler Mehndi, as the grand Marshall.
He is excited to wave both the Indian and United States flag in commemoration of this joyous event.
The parade will also showcase culture, dances, and uniqueness from over 20 states of India – participants are gearing up with beautiful decorations that will bring a vibrant and colorful display to attendees.
The event will be covered by numerous TV outlets including NCTV17 and TV Asia. There will be numerous motor bikers of Indian Origin and a showcase of exotic, vintage cars that will roar through the parade route bringing excitement.
After the parade, there will be an all-day stage program at Rotary Hill featuring a Local Talent Show, Up-and-Coming Singers, Vivek Agrawal & Madhuri Patibanda, and Up-Beat DJ Sets by DJ Salman & DJ Sajan Vadali.
The free Health fair will be set up at the ground from 1pm to 5pm with multiple providers such as blood pressure screening, blood sugar, bone density, live physicians, and more.
The evening program will kick off with both the Indian national anthem and the US national anthem. Highly acclaimed Indian Rock Star, Daler Mehndi, is prepared to set the stage on fire with internationally renowned songs such as “Tunak Tunak Tun” and more.
The crowd will surely be dancing into the night. The top winners of the local talent show will have the chance to perform again in the evening program as well.
As in previous years, esteemed guests such as the Mayor of Naperville, Consul General of India, Congressmen, Senators, Trustees, and other prominent leaders of Chicago and Naperville are expected in attendance in both the parade and evening celebration. The event will be entirely free to all attendees due to the endless support brought by sponsors. This year’s Event & Platinum sponsors include the Tech Companies of Chicago, New York Life Insurance, Shree Energy Group, and Woodridge Clinic.
The members of ICO are working tirelessly day and night to ensure a very structured, organized, and safe event that will leave a memorable mark on all participants.
