Pune, 25th July. Trainee IAS officer Puja Khedkar has come under intense scrutiny for alleged irregularities, including manipulation of documents and misuse of power.
Khedkar, who is accused of fraudulently obtaining a disability certificate and non-creamy layer quota, failed to report to the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie by the July 23 deadline.
The 34-year-old officer was summoned by LBSNAA, the premier institute for civil services training, following serious allegations against her. Despite the summons, she did not appear and is currently untraceable, according to media reports.
Khedkar also missed a previous summons by the Pune city police on July 20 related to a harassment complaint against Pune district collector Suhas Diwase.
In a related development, the Centre has instructed the Pune police to investigate the marital status of Khedkar’s parents. This directive follows an FIR filed by the UPSC and a show cause notice regarding her disqualification and debarment from future examinations.
The UPSC alleges that Khedkar fraudulently claimed OBC non-creamy layer benefits by asserting that her parents were separated.
A senior Pune police official confirmed to PTI that the central government has requested verification of the marital status of Khedkar’s parents, Manorama and Dilip Khedkar.
The official stated, “We have been asked to ascertain and report the actual status of their marriage or divorce to the central government.”
