New Delhi, 5th June. Panic ensued aboard an Air Canada flight bound for Toronto from the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in Delhi after officials received an email claiming a bomb had been planted on the airplane. However, authorities later confirmed that the threat was a hoax.
According to officials, the Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) office received an email at 10:50 pm on Tuesday, alleging the presence of a bomb on the Delhi-Toronto Air Canada flight. In response, standard security protocols were immediately activated, and a thorough inspection of the aircraft was conducted. Fortunately, no suspicious items were found during the inspection.
A senior police officer stated, “Following standard security protocols, a thorough inspection was conducted and nothing suspicious was found.” Legal action is now being pursued in connection with the hoax bomb threat.
