New Delhi, 17th August. Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised the Union Cabinet’s recent decisions on metro rail projects and airport expansions, highlighting their potential to enhance the status of key cities in India.
In a statement on X, Shah lauded the Cabinet’s approval of three major metro projects in Bengaluru, Thane, and Pune. He noted that the Bengaluru metro project is expected to significantly boost the city’s financial capabilities, while the Thane and Pune metro projects are poised to elevate their roles as prominent tourism and educational centers.
Shah extended his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for these visionary initiatives.
Additionally, Shah expressed appreciation for the approval of two new airport development projects. The Union Cabinet sanctioned the construction of a new civil enclave at Bagdogra Airport in West Bengal, with an estimated cost of ₹1,549 crore, and another at Bihta Airport in Bihar, costing ₹1,413 crore.
These projects aim to fill crucial gaps in tourist circuits, enhance the tourism industry, and create job opportunities.
The metro expansions and airport developments reflect the government’s commitment to bolstering infrastructure and supporting economic growth across key regions.
