Hisar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday laid the foundation stone for a new terminal building at Maharaja Agrasen Airport in Hisar, Haryana, worth over Rs 410 crore. This initiative is part of the government’s broader vision to make air travel safer, affordable, and accessible for all. The PM was joined by several key dignitaries at the event and addressed a large gathering, highlighting the importance of the occasion.
The Prime Minister began by honoring the legacy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of India’s Constitution, on his birth anniversary. PM Modi stated that today was a significant day for the nation, emphasizing that the government’s policies have been driven by the ideals of Babasaheb Ambedkar, focusing on the welfare of marginalized communities, social justice, and the continuous development of the nation.
During the event, PM Modi unveiled a new chapter in Haryana’s connectivity with the launch of flights from Haryana to Ayodhya Dham. “Now, the sacred land of Shri Krishna in Haryana is directly connected to the city of Lord Ram,” he remarked, underscoring the significance of the new air route.
As part of the broader strategy for regional development, Modi emphasized the role of infrastructure in enhancing connectivity and driving socio-economic growth. He took a moment to reflect on the remarkable strides made in India’s aviation sector, noting that in just 10 years, the number of airports in the country has doubled, and the UDAN scheme has opened over 600 routes connecting even remote areas.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the role of Hisar Airport in providing new opportunities to the youth of Haryana, ensuring that air travel is no longer a privilege for the elite but accessible to all. He stated that the development of new airports, including the Hisar terminal, would provide an array of job opportunities and foster economic growth in the region.
Criticizing previous governments, particularly the Congress party, for neglecting the welfare of SC, ST, and OBC communities, PM Modi reaffirmed his government’s commitment to improving their lives through tangible measures like expanding access to basic services, offering financial inclusion through Jan Dhan accounts, and ensuring the implementation of social justice programs. He also took aim at the opposition for their history of undermining Babasaheb Ambedkar’s vision, accusing them of using the Constitution for political gain.
In his address, PM Modi expressed pride in the government’s efforts to strengthen social justice and elevate marginalized communities, especially in Haryana. He lauded the state’s governance for eliminating corruption in job appointments, where previously candidates had to rely on political connections or bribery to secure employment. He pointed out that under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Haryana had taken significant steps toward providing equitable opportunities to its youth.
Additionally, PM Modi highlighted his government’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of veterans, recalling how the implementation of the One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme, which had long been delayed, was finally achieved under his leadership, benefiting thousands of ex-servicemen from Haryana.
The Prime Minister wrapped up his speech by expressing confidence in Haryana’s future role in India’s development. He reiterated that the state, with its rich contribution to national defense, agriculture, and sports, would continue to play a vital role in realizing the vision of a “developed India.”
The event also saw the presence of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Murlidhar Mohol, among other dignitaries.
