New Delhi, 6th Nov. As the results of the US election pointed to a decisive Republican victory, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to social media to congratulate Donald Trump on his comeback as President. Calling Trump “my friend,” Modi expressed his warm congratulations in a post on X, stating, “Heartiest congratulations my friend @realDonaldTrump on your historic election victory.”
The Prime Minister added that he looked forward to “renewing our collaboration to further strengthen the India-US Comprehensive Global and Strategic Partnership.” He emphasized working together to improve the lives of their citizens and to promote global peace, stability, and prosperity.
Trump, on the brink of a significant win, has managed to flip all seven battleground states in his favor, a remarkable turnaround after the Democrats won a 6-1 split in those states in the 2020 election. Addressing his supporters in Florida, Trump called his victory “magnificent” and “a victory for the American people,” while also acknowledging the personal significance of his triumph, referencing a July 13 assassination attempt that he said “God spared my life for a reason.”
Trump further praised the Republican campaign, calling it “the greatest political movement of all time,” and vowed to help the country “heal” and “fix our borders.” He also assured his supporters, “I will fight for you and your family with every breath in my body.”
The Republican win is not only significant on the presidential front but also on Capitol Hill, as the GOP has taken control of the Senate and is leading in the race for the House of Representatives. In his victory speech, Trump expressed his gratitude towards his running mate JD Vance, his wife Melania Trump, and his children for their unwavering support throughout the campaign.
He also acknowledged the role of Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and owner of X, in supporting his bid. “Thank you, Elon,” Trump said, signaling Musk’s influence in the political arena.
With projections showing that Trump will secure a massive electoral votes tally, the Republican triumph is set to reshape the political landscape in the coming years.
