New Delhi, 4th March. Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, inaugurated the AYUSH-ICMR Advanced Centre for Integrated Health Research at AIIMS on Monday.
During the ceremony, Dr. Mandaviya emphasized the importance of collaborative research in AYUSH, bridging traditional knowledge with modern scientific research for holistic healthcare. He highlighted Ayurveda’s integral role in Indian culture and expressed optimism about integrating traditional practices with modern medicine to advance healthcare innovations.
The AYUSH-ICMR Advanced Centre aims to promote Integrative Health Research, combining AYUSH systems with modern technology for improved patient outcomes. Four AIIMS locations will host specialized centers focusing on various health issues.
Additionally, a multicenter clinical trial on Anaemia was announced, aiming to explore alternative treatments for moderate iron deficiency anaemia. This trial will involve eight different sites across India.
The launch of Indian Public Health Standards for AYUSH healthcare facilities seeks to standardize and improve the quality of AYUSH services, aligning with the National Health Policy’s emphasis on pluralism.
The event also included the inauguration of the 27th convocation of Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth and the 29th National Seminar on ‘Ayurvedo Amritanam’. Notable figures from both ministries and esteemed members of the healthcare community were present to commemorate these initiatives.
