HC Rejects IAS Officer J Manjunath’s Bail Plea

New Delhi, 4th August. The High Court of Karnataka has denied bail to IAS officer J Manjunath, who is being held in custody in the Rs 5 lakh bribery case.

Manjunath was the Bengaluru Urban Deputy Commissioner when the alleged bribery case happened in his office.

A few days after being transferred from his position as Bengaluru DC, he was detained on July 4.

The arrest followed the High Court’s observations in the bail petition of a deputy tahsildar who was already in custody in the same case.

On July 11, Manjunath’s bail application before the special court was denied, and he petitioned the High Court’s single judge bench of Justice K Natarajan. The verdict was reserved on Monday and delivered on Wednesday.

The High Court has yet to upload a copy of the judgement, and more information is awaited.
