Haryana Govt to File Case Against Kejriwal Over ‘Yamuna Poisoning’ Allegations

Chandigarh, 29th Jan. The Haryana government has announced it will file a case against former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over his recent allegations regarding the “poisoning” of the Yamuna River. Haryana’s Minister of State for Industries, Vipul Goyal, stated on Wednesday that Kejriwal’s claims have caused unnecessary panic among the people of Haryana and Delhi.

“Kejriwal has made an irresponsible statement. The Haryana government will not spare him. There is no truth to these allegations,” Goyal remarked, dismissing the charge as baseless.

The controversy arose earlier this week when Arvind Kejriwal, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief, accused the BJP-led Haryana government of mixing “poison” into the Yamuna water supplied to Delhi. Kejriwal referred to the high levels of ammonia in the water, which, according to AAP, were over 700 times the permissible limit due to untreated industrial waste and pollution. The Haryana government has strongly refuted the claims, calling them false and harmful.

The matter has now escalated into a political dispute, with both sides intensifying their rhetoric.
