Chandigarh, 21st August. Haryana’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Pankaj Agarwal, has announced the schedule for the upcoming Haryana Legislative Assembly elections. According to the plan, candidates can file their nomination papers until September 12, with scrutiny of these papers set for the following day.
Candidates have until September 16 to withdraw their nominations. Voting will take place on October 1, and the counting of votes is scheduled for October 4.
The final voter list, which will be published on August 27, includes 2,03,27,631 registered voters. Among them are 1,08,19,021 men, 95,08,155 women, and 455 third-gender voters. The voter base includes 482,896 young voters aged 18 to 19, 149,387 voters with disabilities, 242,818 voters aged over 85, and 9,554 voters aged over 100. The 20 to 29 age group consists of 41,52,806 voters.
A total of 20,629 polling booths will be set up across Haryana, with 7,132 in urban areas and 13,497 in rural areas, spread across 10,495 locations. Haryana has 90 Assembly constituencies, including 17 reserved constituencies.
Candidates are permitted to spend up to ₹40 lakh on their election campaigns and must provide details of a separate bank account to the District Election Officer for campaign-related expenses.
The election process is also supported by digital tools such as the Suvidha App, which allows candidates to obtain approvals for rallies, roadshows, and other events.
Voters can use the KYC App to access background information about candidates, while the Saksham App has been developed to assist voters with disabilities.
