Philadelphia, PA-USA, 4th Nov. On the eve of a pivotal Election Day, Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump are set to hold back-to-back campaign rallies in Pittsburgh on Monday, emphasizing Pennsylvania’s critical role in the presidential race.

Trump, the Republican nominee, is scheduled to rally supporters at PPG Paints Arena at 6 p.m. Registration for general admission is open for supporters on his campaign website. Harris, the Democratic nominee, will address voters at Point State Park at 3 p.m., where a stage is already being set up downtown, according to her campaign. Supporters can sign up online to attend.

The dual visits underscore the intense battle for Pennsylvania’s 19 electoral votes, which could be a deciding factor in the election. Allegheny County, where Pittsburgh is located, is viewed as one of the most consequential counties nationwide.

“Pennsylvania is often a tipping-point state,” said Sam Hens-Greco, chair of the Allegheny County Democratic Committee. “Most folks believe that whoever wins Pennsylvania could very well win this election.”

Sam DeMarco, chair of the Allegheny County Republican Committee, echoed the sentiment, referencing a recent Wall Street Journal article declaring Pittsburgh the “center of the political universe.” “Having both Donald Trump and Kamala Harris visit again on the same day emphasizes that reality,” DeMarco said.

Both campaigns are in high gear. Democratic Committee volunteers are urging supporters to submit mail-in ballots before the polls close. Republican organizers are likewise mobilizing local enthusiasm, preparing for a strong turnout for Trump.

DeMarco noted that Republican voters are utilizing mail-in ballots at unprecedented levels. “Republicans here are energized and engaged, with a much higher use of mail-in and absentee ballots than in past elections,” he said.

The Democratic turnout has also been significant, with Hens-Greco reporting that over 160,000 Democratic voters have already cast ballots in Allegheny County, signaling high engagement among Democratic supporters.

With both parties viewing Pennsylvania as the potential linchpin in the election, these high-profile campaign stops by Harris and Trump highlight the state’s critical role as voters prepare to head to the polls.
