Political compulsions forced Narender Modi to sacrifice his close friend Manohar Lal CM of Haryana .

Old proverb a friend in need is a friend indeed holds true with PM Narender Modi and Former Haryana CM Manohar Lal. But Modi chose him for resignation as he was convinced that if Loksabha and subsequent assembly elections are held under his leadership, their party may not get expected results. Both have about three decades old relationship which Narender Modi publicly acknowledged at inauguration function of Dwarka Expressway at Gurugram recently. Tracing old association without mincing words, Modi recalled the old days when he was incharge of the party’s Haryana wing and Manohar Lal was the organizing Secretary of Haryana unit of Bhartiya Janata Party.
He added that he used to take ride on Manohar Lal’s motorcycle. Recalls Gulshan Bhatia, office secretary of Rohtak office “Manohar Lal ji used to cook Khichdi and serve to Modi.It goes to credit of Narender Modi that despite Manohar Lal’ s failure on several occasions particularly during agitation by Jats eight years ago for reservation in government jobs and educational institutions, he publicly praised him for good governance.
Recently Manohar Lal was appointed to choose the leader of Chief Ministerial candidate for Madhya Pradesh.Modi had specially come to Chandigarh to witness the oath ceremony of Manohar Lal as CM about a decade ago.Even in last assembly elections when BJP under the leadership of Manohar Lal was reduced to forty legislators,Modi allowed Manohar Lal to continue CM for second time.
OP Dhankar, President of the State BJP who was creating trouble for Manohar Lal was replaced by Nayab Saini, a protege of Manohar Lal.Another protege of Manohar Lal, Subhash Barala was chosen for Rajya Sabha ignoring claims of Dhankar and former Minister Abhimanyu close to Amit Shah.
